Lazio Faces Napoli in Key Serie A Clash Amid Injury Concerns
Body:
Serie A leaders Lazio will visit Napoli for a significant match on Sunday afternoon, as Max Allegri’s side seeks to halt their recent decline against Gennaro Gattuso’s upwardly mobile Biancocelesti. The match is scheduled to kick off at 12:30 CET (11:30 GMT) at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, with Luca Pairetto officiating.
Currently, Lazio stands atop Serie A with 28 points, but their lead has shrunk to just one point after Roma’s 3-0 victory over Sassuolo on Saturday. Gattuso understands that failing to secure a win could jeopardize their position at the top. In contrast, Napoli sits 14 points behind on 14, and pressure mounts on Allegri following a 2-0 defeat to Juventus and a significant 4-1 loss in the Champions League against Porto.
Both teams are battling injury issues. Napoli’s injury list includes Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Leonardo Spinazzola, Stanislav Lobotka, Benoit Badiashile, David Neres, Alisson Santos, Costantino Favasuli, and Alessandro Buongiorno. Mathias Olivera is also not fully fit, while Luca Marianucci is absent due to suspension after receiving a red card in Turin.
On the other hand, Lazio will miss captain Mattia Zaccagni and Albert Gudmundsson, with Nuno Tavares dealing with a muscular problem.
In the UK and Ireland, fans can watch the match live on DAZN, while in the US, it will be available on Paramount+. In Italy, the game is also broadcast on DAZN.
