Neymar Enters Poker Tournament Following Brazil’s World Cup Exit
The Brazilian National Team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Norway one week ago, resulting in their elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the round of 16.
This outcome represents one of the worst performances in the history of the Canarinho in the tournament, as they finished in 11th place overall.
The early exit likely signals the end of an era for several players on the national team, including goalkeeper Alisson, full-back Danilo, center-back Marquinhos, defensive midfielder Casemiro, and forward Neymar.
Most of the players who compete for European clubs traveled directly from the United States to begin their vacation breaks.
However, a few players belong to Brazilian teams. The national league resumes its regular schedule this coming Thursday (16), featuring a match between Botafogo and Santos.
Santos granted Neymar a few days of leave before he reports back to work, as the forward remains under contract with the club until the end of December 2026.
Neymar subsequently decided to participate in a poker tournament in the United States, which features a prize pool estimated at 10,000 dollars (approximately R$ 51,100).
