Santos star Neymar has accepted a challenge from journalist Fábio Sormani, 69, to a 1v1 football match. The challenge was issued by Sormani during a live stream where he claimed that Neymar, now playing for Santos, could not dribble past him in a small space.

Sormani stated, “Are you in? If you are, we’re going to do a challenge. Now, there’s no point picking a full field; it has to be a small space. I’ll take the ball off you! You get five attempts, and I’ll take the ball off you all five times. In a small space, I want to see you dribble past me. You can’t do that anymore, Neymar. Can you track back? Are you productive? Do you help the team?”

In a response that fueled excitement among fans, Neymar shared the video of the challenge on his Instagram Story, captioning it, “Challenge accepted!! Show up at the training center and make the space whatever size you want. Don’t back out now 😂.”

As for Santos, they have much on their plate as they prepare for the upcoming quarterfinals of the 2026 Copa do Brasil. They will visit Palmeiras at Nubank Parque on Wednesday, October 26, at 9:30 p.m. Brasília time, with the second leg scheduled for the following Wednesday. Additionally, Santos will compete against Atlético-MG in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Conmebol Sudamericana, with the first leg taking place at Vila Belmiro.
