Notts County has officially signed Ishe Samuels-Smith on a season-long loan from Chelsea. The 20-year-old defender, who excels in various positions on the left side of defense, joins the Magpies as they kick off their first season back in League One since the 2014-15 campaign.

Last season, Samuels-Smith played on loan at Swansea City, where he made six appearances in the Championship. He recently rejoined Chelsea on a permanent basis after a stint with Strasbourg.

Additionally, Samuels-Smith has represented England at the Under-20 level.

“Ishe is a talented young player who is capable of contributing in both attacking and defensive phases,” said Richard Montague, County’s director of football, to the club website.
