Oldham Athletic have completed the signing of defender Ryan Delaney on a one-year contract. The 29-year-old Irishman joins the club as a free agent following his departure from Swindon earlier this summer.

Delaney spent the latter part of last season on loan at Newport County. During that spell, he made 17 appearances and scored one goal, playing a key role in helping the team secure their place in League Two.

“I’ve been fortunate to gain a lot of experience over the years, playing in the EFL and coming through different situations at different clubs,” he told the club website.
