Real Madrid Shines in Vinicius Jr.’s Absence; Player Faces Uncertain Future
Real Madrid’s convincing 3-0 victory over Valencia highlighted the team’s resilience in the absence of star player Vinicius Jr. This match marked the final appearance of Vinicius’ suspension, during which the club thrived with key contributions from Arda Guler, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe. Meanwhile, Yan Diomande continued to establish his presence in the squad.
This strong performance raises questions about Vinicius Jr.’s long-term place within the team, which have been further underscored by a recent report from Diario AS.
Vinicius Aware of Position Change
Vinicius has struggled for consistent performance this season, with a mere single goal to his name across all competitions. His contribution has been further hindered by a four-match domestic suspension, which ended following the recent win over Valencia.
Even during Champions League fixtures where Vinicius has participated, his impact has been minimal—he has yet to record any goals or assists this season.
The forward will return for La Liga matches post-international break. With Guler excelling and in line for a contract extension, and Diomande establishing himself at the Santiago Bernabeu, Vinicius recognizes the competition for a starting spot will be challenging.
Mourinho’s Support Remains Steadfast
Despite facing difficulties, coach Jose Mourinho continues to offer unwavering support for Vinicius Jr. The communication between the two has been positive and constant, a contrast to the previous season under Xabi Alonso.
This stability has helped Vinicius gain a clearer understanding of his role on the team, as Mourinho is not shy about making tough decisions while defending the player publicly.
At this moment, the focus for Vinicius remains on regaining peak form, with no immediate discussions about his future. Mourinho has shown enthusiasm about the prospect of Vinicius representing Brazil during the international break, suggesting that the coming weeks will be crucial for the player’s career.
