Zeki Celik, surprisingly, is not renewing his contract with Roma but is moving to Juventus.

The Giallorossi club had booked the Turkish full-back’s return flight to Fiumicino, and he was supposed to sign the new deal tomorrow in Trigoria before resuming training on Saturday.

Instead, the 1997-born player is ready to begin a new adventure with the Bianconeri: “Now the time has come to begin a new chapter in my career. But I will always carry this club, this city, and all of you in my heart. I wish Roma continued success. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything.”

The transfer market is unpredictable, and anything can happen until official announcements are made. Unforeseen events are always around the corner, and Roma knows it well, given what happened with Celik.

As Fabrizio Romano reports, the Giallorossi club had already signed its share of documents and had been waiting for the player since his training camp last weekend. The 1997-born player had to send his countersigned share of documents… and in the meantime, while they were stalling, he chose to reach an agreement with Juventus. Roma wasn’t aware of this, quite the opposite… Celik’s transfer to Juventus, therefore, surprised everyone.
