Roma Adjusts Offer for Rodrigo Mora with New Loan Terms
According to Sky Sport Italia, AS Roma has revised its offer for FC Porto’s Rodrigo Mora, proposing a loan fee of €7 million, accompanied by an option to buy that could become mandatory for €43 million.
The young player is keen to secure a position where he can be a regular starter after progressing through Porto’s youth academy, as his playing style does not align well with coach Francesco Farioli’s system.

The main challenge remains in structuring a payment plan for the total €50 million asking price that meets the requirements of all parties involved.

Previously, reports indicated that Roma was close to finalizing a deal valued at €25 million for a 50% stake in the player, with the option to purchase the remaining share at the end of the season for an additional €25 million.

However, Sky Sport Italia noted this evening that discussions have shifted once again, with a new proposal emerging.

The latest offer entails Roma paying €7 million for a one-season loan of Mora, with an option to purchase for €43 million by June 2027. This option could turn into an obligation if certain conditions are fulfilled, such as the team’s European qualification and Mora’s total appearances for the season.

This approach allows Roma to avoid an upfront commitment of at least €25 million without certainty of making the deal permanent.
The crux of the matter is that both clubs seek assurances regarding how the agreement will unfold next summer.

This stipulation also rules out any buy-back option for Porto as part of the agreement.
The 19-year-old Mora, a trequartista by nature, has the ability to drift wide and inject creativity into Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma have changed the formula for their Rodrigo Mora offer again, paying €7m for the loan from FC Porto, with option to buy that can become an obligation for €43m.
The player is eager to go somewhere he can become a regular after coming up through the Porto youth academy, as his playing style does not particularly suit coach Francesco Farioli.

The issue is managing to find a payment system and schedule for the total €50m asking price that can suit everyone.

It had been reported they were close to a deal for €25m covering 50 per cent of the player, then the option to buy the remaining share at the end of the season for another €25m.

However, this evening Sky Sport Italia suggest things have changed again with a different approach.

This time, Roma would pay €7m to have Mora on loan for one season, with an option to buy for another €43m come June 2027.
That could be turned into an obligation if certain conditions were met, both for the team objectives for instance European qualification, and the number of games played by Mora.

This way, Roma would not be obliged to spend at least €25m without knowing if they’ll make it permanent.
The issue here is both clubs want certain guarantees on how the deal will play out next summer.

That also means not allowing Porto any buy-back clause as part of the agreement.
The 19-year-old is a trequartista who likes to drift out wide too, and can bring some much-needed creativity to Gian Piero Gasperini’s team.
