AS Roma Eyes Quinten Timber Amid Marseille’s Financial Struggles
AS Roma are reportedly interested in Olympique de Marseille’s Quinten Timber (25), according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Looking to bolster their midfield, the Italian club are said to have made the Dutchman one of their targets for the summer transfer window, despite competition from Besiktas JK for his signature. Aware of the financial difficulties faced by Marseille, they are reportedly hoping to capitalise on the situation to secure his services at a favourable price.

However, even if Roma’s interest is confirmed, the Utrecht-born player’s name is still not at the top of the Giallorossi’s shortlist. Celtic’s Arne Engels (22) and Botafogo’s Danilo Santos (25) are therefore currently considered to be the top priorities.
Be that as it may, although he joined OM (16 appearances in 2025-26) from Feyenoord for €4.5m last winter, Timber’s spell in France could well be shorter than expected, despite having a contract running until 2030.
