Cristian Romero Seeks Serie A Return, Faces €50m Hurdle from Tottenham
Sportitalia reports that Cristian Romero is keen to return to Serie A with Inter Milan, but the €50 million asking price set by Tottenham Hotspur presents a significant challenge.
The 28-year-old defender, who exited the pitch with an injury during the 2026 World Cup Final with Argentina, had already decided to move on at the club level this summer.

His contract at Spurs extends until June 2029, but he feels his time at White Hart Lane is over, especially following the club’s struggles to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
According to Sportitalia reporter Gianluigi Longari, Inter has been in contact with Romero’s entourage, and the player is enthusiastic about the possibility of returning to Italy.

Romero began his career in Italy, moving from Genoa in 2018 to Juventus and then Atalanta, before his €53.8 million transfer to Tottenham in 2021.
While both the player and Spurs acknowledge their imminent split this summer, the asking price of €50 million along with his wage demands remain significant obstacles for the Nerazzurri.
