Headline: Wayne Rooney to Co-Host New Manchester United Show with Mark Goldbridge

Wayne Rooney will team up with influencer Mark Goldbridge to co-host a new show focused on Manchester United this season.

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville recently acquired Goldbridge’s YouTube channels, which include The United Stand and That’s Football, integrating them into his Overlap network.

Rooney, a regular on the Overlap’s Stick to Football show, will headline the new program titled Stick to United with Wayne Rooney. This collaboration is part of a distribution agreement with Disney+, which will air 50 episodes of Stick to United and 40 episodes of Stick to Football during the season.

Neville remarked that the partnership “expands our reach without compromising our identity.” He founded The Overlap in 2021, and the initiative has since branched out into other sports like cricket and rugby. In April, Neville paid an undisclosed seven-figure amount to purchase Goldbridge’s channels.

Goldbridge, whose real name is Brent di Cesare, boasts over 3.8 million followers across his two YouTube platforms, with clips of his videos frequently going viral due to his animated reactions and controversial opinions on football.

Neville has previously expressed his views on fan channels, notably criticizing ArsenalFanTV as “embarrassing” after fans vocally opposed then-manager Arsene Wenger following a loss to Chelsea in 2017. This led to a Twitter exchange with ArsenalFanTV, during which he later appeared to clarify his stance.

The Wayne Rooney Show is set to return to BBC platforms this season. Rooney will also maintain his role as a pundit on Match of the Day.

Wayne Rooney will co-host a new Manchester United-dedicated show alongside influencer Mark Goldbridge this season.

Former United captain Gary Neville bought Goldbridge’s YouTube channels earlier this year, bringing the influencer’s The United Stand and That’s Football into his Overlap network.

It is part of a distribution deal signed with Disney+, which will show 50 episodes of Stick to United and 40 episodes of Stick to Football this season.

Neville says the partnership “expands our reach without compromising our identity”.

The former England defender founded The Overlap in 2021 and it has since expanded into other sports such as cricket and rugby.

Neville, who co-chairs the company, paid an undisclosed seven-figure sum to acquire Goldbridge’s channels in April.

Clips from Goldbridge’s videos often go viral online for his outlandish reactions and controversial football opinions.

Neville has previously criticised Arsenal-dedicated fan YouTube channel ArsenalFanTV, labelling it as “embarrassing” after fans on the platform berated then manager Arsene Wenger following a 3-1 defeat by Chelsea in 2017.

Neville’s comments led to a Twitter spat between him and ArsenalFanTV, and he later appeared in an interview on the channel to clarify his views.
