Saliba and Upamecano Miss Training Ahead of France’s Semifinal Against Spain
William Saliba and Dayot Upamecano were absent from the French national team’s training session just days before their match against Spain. Aurélien Tchouaméni was present.
The French national team has begun preparing for its semifinal against Spain following their victory over Morocco. Les Bleus aim to seek revenge against La Roja, having been eliminated by Spain in both Euro 2024 and the 2025 Nations League. Didier Deschamps led his squad through training this Saturday, three days before the crucial World Cup fixture. According to our special correspondent in the United States, Dorian Bonzom, Dayot Upamecano and William Saliba did not participate in the session. The Bayern Munich defender is currently training individually indoors, while the French coaching staff granted the Arsenal player a rest. At this stage, neither player faces the risk of missing the upcoming semifinal.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappé participated in running drills without showing any major issues, providing a significant boost for French supporters.
Aurélien Tchouaméni participates in training
Mike Maignan, Robin Risser, and Brice Samba remain absent from the squad. Players who started against Morocco completed laps around the pitch, while the remaining substitutes warmed up under the guidance of Guy Stephan. Aurélien Tchouaméni joined the session and trained normally, showing no signs of discomfort. However, it remains too early to determine if the Real Madrid midfielder has fully recovered from his injury.
