Stevenage has secured the signing of Michael Mellon from Burnley for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old forward has committed to a three-year contract with the League One club.

Although Mellon did not feature for Burnley’s first team, he gained valuable experience during several loan spells away from Turf Moor. His latest loan was with Oldham in League Two, where he played under the management of his father, Micky Mellon.

During his time with the Latics, Mellon showcased his scoring ability, netting 10 goals in 18 appearances.
