Tamworth has officially signed goalkeeper Rhys Lovett on a one-year contract.

The 29-year-old brings experience from his time with Kidderminster Harriers in the National League North last season, as well as previous play in the fifth tier with Maidenhead.

Lovett will be ready to join the squad when Tamworth kicks off their league campaign against last season’s playoff finalists, Boreham Wood, on Saturday.

“It is probably the toughest start we could have had to this season’s campaign,” said manager Andy Peaks. “They were so strong last season and literally minutes away from securing promotion to League Two.”
