Thorgan Hazard Returns to RC Lens on Two-Year Deal
Thorgan Hazard, 33, has officially completed a return to RC Lens. The Belgian midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 club.
The Belgium international developed through the youth ranks at Lens, where he made 16 appearances for the first team. He joined Chelsea in the summer of 2012, following his brother, who moved to the London club from Lille OSC. Throughout his career, Hazard has played for Zulte Waregem, Borussia Monchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund, PSV Eindhoven, and RSC Anderlecht. He joined his most recent side in 2023, recording 15 goals and 11 assists across 46 matches last season.
His contract expired at the end of the recent campaign. He declined a renewal, choosing instead to join Lens, a club set to compete in the UEFA Champions League next season. His new agreement runs until the summer of 2028. Hazard becomes Les Sang et Or’s second signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrival of Michael Cuisance.
