Zeki Celik Leaves Roma for Juventus Amid Busy Serie A Transfer Activity

Zeki Celik has joined Juventus rather than extending his contract with Roma, while Milan defender Pervis Estupinan is edging closer to a move to Aston Villa, and Como have scheduled a new round of talks for Trevoh Chalobah: check out today’s transfer news.

The biggest transfer news in Serie A today is Zeki’s move to Juventus as a free agent. The Turkishman has rejected a contract extension offer from the Giallorossi to move to Turin instead. Juventus confirmed the transfer this evening, stating that Celik has signed a contract until 2029.

His deal at the Olimpico had expired this past June. Celik has become Juventus’ second summer signing after Jeff Ekhator from Genoa.

The Bianconeri remain on the lookout for a new centre-forward and met Parma for Mateo Pellegrino earlier this week.

According to Gazzetta, the Old Lady’s director Giovanni Carnevali has also held direct talks with Roberto De Zerbi, discussing both Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Brazilian striker Richarlison.

Juventus are also in talks with Franck Kessié, but are unwilling to match the midfielder’s salary demands, which are between €5m and €6m.

Elsewhere in Serie A, Como continue to be very busy, and according to Gazzetta and Sky, the Azzurri are close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea for Trevoh Chalobah for circa €35m.

Sky claims that Como have scheduled a new meeting with the Blues’ executives and are confident that they’ll shake hands on a €35m move.

According to Sky, the Azzurri also have an agreement for Mohamed El Fezani, a Norwegian striker from Valerenga Fotball II. Cesc Fabregas’ side also announced the signing of Mattia Liberali from Catanzaro on Wednesday.

Milan are also closing in on an agreement with a Premier League club, though this time it concerns an outgoing deal, with the Rossoneri working to send Estupiñán to Aston Villa.

According to Gazzetta, the two clubs are expected to finalise the deal very soon, allowing the Ecuador international to reunite with his former Villarreal coach, Unai Emery, for a fee between €18m and €20m.

After spending circa €100m on Mario Gila and Gonçalo Ramos, the Rossoneri are now focusing on sales. Rafael Leao still hasn’t received formal proposals, but the Diavoli have already been offered a replacement: Manchester City’s Phil Foden, according to SportMediaset.

Roma are another club mostly working on sales currently. According to Fabrizio Romano, they are still waiting for a formal approach from Manchester United for Manu Koné, but the Frenchman’s agents are already in talks with the Red Devils.

Gazzetta claims that Koné’s sale ‘appears inevitable’ due to Roma’s financial needs and that the Giallorossi have already identified Arne Engels (Celtic) and Danilo Santos (Botafogo) as potential replacements.

According to Il Messagero, Roma also have an agreement with Club Brugge striker Nicolò Tresoldi, but are still awaiting the green light from the Belgian club.

The same goes for Diego Moreira, who is open to joining Roma. However, the Serie A side’s proposal to Strasbourg is only €30m, while the French club asks for at least €40m.

    Other Teams

Sassuolo are in talks over Francesco Acerbi’s potential return. His contract with Inter expired in June (various). The Neroverdi have also reached an agreement to sign Mergim Vojvoda from Como.

Bologna are on the verge of signing Mikel Amondarain, a holding midfielder of Estudiantes, for circa €8m, plus Alhassane, left-back from Real Oviedo, for €4m (Sky Sport).

Lazio are ready to sign an €8m offer for Brazilian striker John Kennedy of Fluminense (various).

Udinese are interested in Milan midfielder Warren Bondo, who spent the last season on loan at Cremonese (Sky).
