PSG Secures Extra Dressing Room for Super Cup Amid Facility Concerns

Paris St-Germain has been allocated an additional dressing room for the Super Cup after expressing their dissatisfaction with the pre-match arrangements.

The Champions League winners voiced concerns about their facilities at the Red Bull Arena ahead of Wednesday’s match against Europa League champions Aston Villa.

PSG will utilize Red Bull Salzburg’s home dressing room, while Aston Villa will occupy the designated away area in Austria.

During a meeting on Monday, PSG officials addressed their issues with Uefa, citing that their assigned dressing room was not spacious enough.

Sources informed BBC Sport that the French club sought an area equivalent to that of Villa, particularly as they are the reigning Super Cup champions after beating Tottenham on penalties last year.

In response to their request, Uefa provided a spare dressing room, typically designated for officials, to ensure PSG had adequate space, matching that of Villa. No officials were displaced for this arrangement.

PSG has arrived in Austria with a squad of 20 players, including Liverpool target Bradley Barcola, midfielder Vitinha, and left-back Lucas Digne, who joined from Villa on Sunday.

PSG, fresh off defending their Champions League title with a victory over Arsenal in May, will square off against Villa, who are competing in their first Super Cup since 1982.

Emery marked a significant change for the club by ending a 30-year trophy drought when they triumphed over Freiburg to secure the Europa League.
