Union Berlin Gifts Unique Shirt to Quiz Contestant After Wrong Answer
In an amusing turn of events from the Bundesliga, contestant Noah Petrik made a notable mistake on Germany’s popular quiz show Wer wird Millionär? (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?) by failing to identify Union Berlin head coach Mauro Lustrinelli. The club took this moment in stride, extending an invitation to Petrik in a show of goodwill.
Petrik received his invite for the Bundesliga home game against 1. FC Cologne, where he was surprised with a personalized Union Berlin shirt featuring the name “Spassikowski.” This name was one of four options he had to choose from when asked to identify Union’s current head coach, a question that could have earned him €2,000.

Unfortunately, it was the incorrect choice.
Petrik’s Bundesliga Memory
The quiz, hosted by Günther Jauch on RTL, presented Petrik with four names: Igor Spassikowski, Mauro Lustrinelli, Erling Gaudigaard, and Jimmy Sexyhexi. Unsure of the correct answer, he called a friend for help. Although the friend claimed to be a football fan, he acknowledged that his knowledge was somewhat outdated.
Nevertheless, the friend confidently suggested Igor Spassikowski, leading to Petrik’s unfortunate decision to trust him. Because of this, he ended the quiz with only €500 instead of the €2,000 prize. Union’s social media team quickly joined in on the fun, sharing the quiz question alongside a picture of Lustrinelli and asserting that the real answer was indeed D: Jimmy Sexyhexi.

Lustrinelli found humor in the situation and invited Petrik to one of their matches. “I think it’s funny, including the suggested names,” Lustrinelli remarked in comments reported by Sport Bild. “There are some nice ideas among them. That’s why I’d like to warmly invite the contestant to watch one of our matches and get to know us a little better.”
A Light-hearted Gesture from Union
The club honored that invitation ahead of Sunday’s match against Cologne at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei. During the event, Petrik received the Union shirt with the name Spassikowski—an everlasting reminder of his quiz mishap. This unique piece of memorabilia serves as a humorous token and possibly a conversation starter, especially if he encounters another Bundesliga coaching trivia question.

Though Petrik did not walk away from the quiz with the grand prize, his experience at the match provided a delightful consolation. He now owns what is likely one of the most peculiar personalized Bundesliga shirts out there.
And should anyone inquire about the current coach of Union Berlin, he will certainly have a good story to tell.
