Vasco and Athletico-PR Set for Crucial Clash in Brasileirão
Vasco and Athletico-PR meet at the Arena da Baixada this Wednesday (4) at 7:30 p.m. (Brasília time) for Matchday 34 of the 2026 Brasileirão.
Vasco currently finds itself in a precarious position, sitting 14th in the league with 38 points, dangerously close to the relegation zone. In contrast, Athletico-PR holds the fifth spot with 54 points, although they have not won in their last three league games.
After suffering a 2-0 loss to Grêmio, Athletico-PR coach Odair Hellmann made several changes to the team, bringing in Dantas, Benavídez, Jadson, and Kerwin Vargas to replace Portilla, Leo Derik, João Cruz, and Leozinho.
On the other hand, Vasco comes into this match following a 1-0 defeat to Palmeiras in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil semifinals. Coach Pedro Emanuel opted for a reshuffle, introducing Pumita, Cuiabano, Gabriel, Andrés Gómez, and Brenner in place of Paulo Henrique, Lucas Piton, Adson, Colídio, and Bruno Duarte.
As both teams look to improve their standings, the upcoming match promises to be significant for their respective campaigns.
