FIFA Set to Award Historic Championship Rings at 2026 World Cup Final
FIFA is adopting an American tradition as it gears up for the 2026 World Cup final.
The winner of the much-anticipated match between Spain and Argentina on Sunday will receive the first championship rings ever granted by FIFA, the organization announced on Thursday. In true FIFA style, more rings will soon be available for purchase by the public.
A total of 2,026 uniquely numbered rings will be produced, with 30 designated for the winning team. The captain and head coach will receive temporary rings after the final, while the final customized rings will be presented at a later date.

The remaining 1,996 rings will be offered to fans around the world as an Official Licensed Product, allowing supporters to possess a unique piece of FIFA World Cup 2026 history.
The rings prominently feature a World Cup trophy on one side, and the logo of the winning team on the other. Extravagantly adorned with numerous diamonds and sapphires, they do not compare to the elaborate rings awarded in major American sports leagues today.
These will not be the first rings associated with the World Cup; however, they are the first officially produced by FIFA. Following France’s victory in 2018, players Paul Pogba and Antoine Griezmann had diamond-encrusted rings custom-made for themselves and their teammates.
These rings were reportedly inspired by the NBA.
It remains uncertain whether FIFA will continue the tradition of awarding World Cup rings in the future or if this is a one-time event for the tournament in America.
