Juventus set to reinvest Tarik Muharemovic sale proceeds into Jhon Lucumi signing
Juventus are set to pocket €20m from the €40m sale of Tarik Muharemovic to Leeds United and plan to use those funds to pursue Jhon Lucumi from Bologna.
Multiple sources report his evening that an agreement is in place for Sassuolo to sell Muharemovic to Leeds for €40m.
As part of the original €2m deal with the Neroverdi, Juventus own 50 per cent of the future sale fee, guaranteeing them a €20m windfall this summer.
Juventus reinvest Muharemovic cash in Lucumi
According to Sportitalia, the club will immediately reinvest that capital to sign a new central defender, with Lucumi the first choice.
His release clause stands at €28m, but since that figure expires tomorrow, Juventus intend to seek a discount during negotiations.
Juventus held an option to bring Muharemovic back to Turin for €18m, but the club preferred to target a player with the experience and specific characteristics offered by Lucumi.
The Colombia international turned 28 last month. He is entering the final year of his contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara, which expires in June 2027.
Bologna paid €8m to sign the defender from KRC Genk in the summer of 2022.
