Aston Villa Signs Alejandro Garnacho on Season-Long Loan from Chelsea
Aston Villa has finalized the season-long loan signing of winger Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea.
The 22-year-old was informed in early July by new manager Xabi Alonso that he could not guarantee regular playing time, leading to his departure from the club. Garnacho subsequently skipped Chelsea’s pre-season as the transfer was finalized.

Garnacho had a challenging first season at Stamford Bridge after transferring from Manchester United, as he struggled to make a meaningful impact.
The winger becomes Villa’s fourth summer signing, joining Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes, and Modou Kaba Cisse.
Interest from other Premier League clubs as well as from Italy was reported prior to his move.

While a move to Saudi Arabia was also considered, Garnacho will focus on reviving his career at Villa Park. This loan includes an obligation to make the move permanent next summer, contingent on certain criteria being fulfilled.

Last season, Garnacho scored eight goals in 43 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, but he did not win over the fans following his stint at Old Trafford.
New Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso previously remarked that Garnacho was attracting interest from other clubs.
“The situation [is] that we have spoken with the sport directors and there’s an interest for him from other clubs,” he stated earlier in July. “Let’s see how it develops, but hopefully it finishes in the best possible way for all the parties.”
Recently, Chelsea confirmed the club-record £117 million signing of Villa’s Morgan Rogers.

In addition, Chelsea has approved the sale of left-back Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid for an initial £47.4 million and confirmed the £48 million departure of midfielder Andrey Santos to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson has returned from his loan spell at Bayern Munich and will have the opportunity to prove himself as Alonso continues to assess his squad.
“He’s joining in the tour that we are starting in Asia, and we’re looking forward to start with Nico at that time,” Alonso stated.
