Liverpool Sign Goalkeeper Khiara Keating from Manchester City
Liverpool have completed the signing of Manchester City goalkeeper Khiara Keating. WSL Full-Time received confirmation of the move via an official club press release from The Reds this afternoon.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper joins Liverpool following the expiry of her contract at The Joie Stadium.
Keating developed through the youth system at Manchester City. She made her debut for the club in January 2022 during a Subway Women’s League Cup match against Leicester City. During the 2023/2024 season, Keating established herself as Manchester City’s first-choice goalkeeper. Head coach Gareth Taylor provided her with that opportunity, and the pair now reunite at Liverpool. Throughout her tenure at Manchester City, Keating made 65 appearances across all competitions.
On the international stage, Keating has earned one senior cap for England.
Following her move to Liverpool, Keating said: “I think everyone knows Liverpool worldwide. It’s such a big club and I think the women’s team is striving for greatness.
“I think the style of football that they play, they actually try to play – which suits me and my position.
“I think they’re just going in the right direction and [it is] a project that I want to be part of.”
Keating serves as Liverpool’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
