Paris Saint-Germain Eye Summer Move for Parma Goalkeeper Zion Suzuki
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly targeting Parma FC goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, 23, for a potential transfer this summer, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Newark, New Jersey-born player delivered a standout performance for the Japanese national team during the World Cup. He also proved his quality for the Gialloblu throughout the last season. Despite a hand injury that limited his playing time, Suzuki made 22 appearances and recorded six clean sheets for Parma.
Aston Villa and Leeds United are also monitoring the goalkeeper. Aston Villa currently seeks a successor for Emiliano Martínez, 33, as he nears an exit from the club. Suzuki could depart Emilia-Romagna for a fee of approximately €35m. This price tag suits Parma, even though the goalkeeper’s contract runs until 2030.
For PSG, the Japanese international represents an ideal transfer opportunity. The club views him as a key part of their strategy to strengthen their squad in the medium term. This interest persists despite the current presence of Matvey Safonov, 27, Lucas Chevalier, 24, and the recent signing of 18-year-old Italian goalkeeper Alessandro Longoni.
