US Set to Host 2031 Women’s World Cup, Says White House Official
Fifa has informed Donald Trump that the US will host the 2031 Women’s World Cup, according to a senior official from the White House administration.
The executive director of the White House’s World Cup Task Force, Andrew Giuliani, revealed in an interview that Fifa had already communicated to Trump about the US being awarded the tournament in five years.

This announcement comes even though Fifa has yet to formally allocate hosting rights to any nation. Currently, a joint bid from the US, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Jamaica represents the sole entry in the selection process.
The decision regarding the locations for the 2031 and 2035 Women’s World Cups is expected to be made during an extraordinary congress later this year, where Fifa’s member associations will cast their votes.
Giuliani stated, “I know they’ve already told the president that the U.S. is going to get the World Cup in 2031, and that really should be fantastic.”
He added a significant caveat by reiterating a key stance of the Trump administration: transgender women will not be allowed to compete. This suggests that the US’s agreement to host the tournament may hinge on Fifa’s alignment with this policy.

Giuliani emphasized, “It is important that the Women’s World Cup does not violate the policy of the United States of America, in that it is important that women play in the Women’s World Cup and not biological men.
“That’s one of the things from our standpoint that will be really key in making sure that that is something that is good before any government guarantee discussions get going.
“If that policy is in place, then I’m sure that discussions will progress pretty fast on this one.”
The Trump administration has made it a priority to block transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports, while Fifa currently does not enforce strict eligibility testing at competitions but requires national federations to verify the eligibility of their players.
