Walsall Signs Goalkeeper Tom Wooster on One-Year Deal
Walsall FC has officially secured goalkeeper Tom Wooster, following his release from Championship team West Ham United. The 21-year-old has signed a one-year contract, with the possibility for the club to extend it for an additional year.
Wooster began his career at Manchester United’s youth academy before joining the Hammers in 2025. He made one appearance in last season’s EFL Trophy.
This acquisition marks the 13th signing for Walsall this summer. Head coach Lee Grant expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition on the club’s website, stating, “He’s someone I am familiar with having crossed paths during my playing career at Manchester United, and he’s really eager to show what he is all about.”
Grant added, “He’s young, athletic and an individual who will no doubt provide great competition for both Jed (Ward) and Jenson (Kilroy) throughout the season in the goalkeeping department.”
The Saddlers recently triumphed with a 3-0 victory at Gillingham in their opening League Two match and will face Grimsby Town at home this Saturday at 12:30 BST.
